The Twerski Fund, in honor of our founder Rabbi Dr. Abraham Twerski, helps provide treatment to individuals without medical coverage or the means to cover costs of treatment. Dr. Twerski believed everyone deserved treatment, no matter where they come from or their income level. This is a legacy and pillar of Gateway Rehab we strive to continue through this fund. Addiction does not discriminate, treatment shouldn’t either.
For patients in residential treatment with limited clothing and personal care products, we help provide essential needs to support their day-to-day care. Providing these necessities prolongs engagement in treatment, supports long-term success, and ultimately gives someone the chance they deserve to build a life in recovery. Our Greatest Need: NEW Men’s & Women’s Socks/Underwear
Gateway Boxing Academy is an exciting expansion of our therapeutic recreation activities. Our boxing program has proven to be extremely popular, safe, and successful as an outlet for patients to exercise, learn recovery skills, cope with stress and anxiety, learn discipline, set goals, and manage anger. We are excited to now have an updated, dedicated gym for our patients to learn and grow in this program.
Music Counseling is an evidence-based practice that helps patients cope with stress, manage anger, deal with anxiety, learn new things, and develop a hobby. Our music counseling program is available to all patients in our inpatient program multiple times a week. In addition to structured times for music therapy, our music room is available for free use to patients throughout the week.
Art Counseling is an evidence-based practice that provides patients with a safe, creative space to express and cope with their emotions, while also decreasing stress and anxiety. Our art counseling program is available to all residential patients in the option of guided group therapy activities and open studio opportunities throughout the week.
Our Wellness Program teaches patients yoga, meditation, and other relaxation activities to help reduce stress and anxiety and improve mental and physical health. Wellness activities cultivate mindfulness and self-connection and are a great way to learn valuable coping skills while progressing in recovery.
Gateway Rehab and Glade Run Adventures partner to offer our patients equine therapy. Equine therapy is proven to reduce stress, anxiety, and increase an individual’s ability to relax and meditate. Patients learn about the animals, work with the animals, and learn hands-on recovery skills through therapeutic activities.
Recovery skills can be taught many ways, and adventure-based counseling, (ABC), is one. ABC focuses on teaching and practicing communication, trust, team-work, and many other recovery skills. This type of therapeutic recreation also boosts confidence, builds trust, and provides an encouraging space for patients to challenge themselves and set goals.
Our Spirituality Program helps patients discover spirituality as an inner source of guidance for recovery. Individual and group counseling sessions explore how the 12 steps encourage a spiritual vision for recovery, provide spiritual readings for discovering one’s higher power, and support each person’s unique way of growing in freedom and spirit.
