What To Expect As A Clinical Intern
Requirements
Pursuing healthcare-related degrees or certifications in fields like medicine, nursing, psychology, or social work.
What's Applied
Acquire valuable skills in evaluations and assessments, individual and group counseling, intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization, inpatient counseling, and detox programming.
Benefits
Experience benefits such as flexible scheduling at 17 locations with 24-hour operations, simple transition to employment, support for PA licensure and certification, and valuable direct clinical service delivery.
Practical Application of Group Counseling
- Experience benefits such as flexible scheduling in multiple locations with 24-hour operations, simple transition to employment, support for PA licensure and certification, and valuable direct clinical service delivery.
- Balancing the format of a pre-planned topic with meeting the needs of the patients at that time, in that moment.
- In real-time, recognizing the differences between a psychoeducation lecture style and an interactive group therapy session.
Key Clinical Skills Development
- Practicing debriefing, one of the key clinical skills necessary to thrive in this field.
- Processing and dispelling previously held assumptions and beliefs about people impacted by addiction.
Direct Service Experience in Addiction Counseling
